The Blog Where I Blog About Not Blogging
I have certainly stumbled out of the gate.
A lot has certainly happened since I posted my first blog: I got married and went on an amazing honeymoon to Kauai, wedding season is in full swing, and I was fortunate enough to be able to make wedding videography my full-time job, along with other freelance projects that have popped up here and there. It has certainly been an exciting time, but there have been some learning curves.
I had (or still have) a lot of ideas and ambitions for my business; there just haven't been enough hours in the day to get to them, especially with trying to stay on top of the weddings that are one weekend after another. One of those ambitions was to use this blog to share details on every wedding I have filmed, so to make up for it, here are just some recent weddings of mine all in one post.
My first wedding of the summer was Taylor and Zane's, out at Besler's Cadillac Ranch. It was a scorcher of a day, but these two powered through it, and were champs for humoring me as we traveled around the Besler's property to get some gorgeous shots.
The weekend after Taylor and Zane's wedding, I traveled up to Terry Peak for Kerri and Calder's special day. Some of the shots from this wedding have been a few of my absolute favorites (sorry, I can't get enough of this film's thumbnail).
I had a rare weekend off after Kerri and Calder's, so my wife and I took advantage of it and took our new inflatable kayaks out to Pactola Reservoir for a test drive. The next weekend, though, I was back at it for Riley and Haden's wedding.
After a great ceremony at Terra Sancta, these two brought the party at Haden's family ranch for their reception. Riley and Haden were one of the most laid back couples I've worked with so far, and they were just a delight to hang out with.
I have a couple of more weddings that I'm currently working on, but I can't wait to share those films with the couples and then with you all. It has been a great summer of weddings so far, and the good times should keep rolling.
